I have a case 1150 which has run great until this problem. the engine runs fine for about 20 minutes, then it begins to act like it's running out of fuel. if you shut it down for a few minutes, it will start and run fine for about 10 minutes, then it begins missing again, loosing power, until it fianally cuts off. almost like you're pulling the engine stop out very slowly. let it sit a couple minutes, it starts and repeats the cycle. I've changed the fuel filters, cleaned out the sediment bowls and drained and cleaned the fuel tank. No change. any ideas? when it runs, it runs very strong, so i don't think it's internal, like a blown head gasket.

I had the same problem with a 930 Case-- The check valves in the priming pump were full of what looked like hair. I suspect it was material from the filter on my bulk fuel tank. Like the last guy said -- make sure you have good fuel flow. Good luck.

Make sure the fuel cap vent is open to allow air in so as not to create a vacuum in the tank.

KRL, I don't know your machine at all but if it has a fuel return line check that it isn't pluged.
Sometimes they are used to keep air from building up in the fuel system and causing what you have.
Good luck Bob

A couple thoughts.

Did you remove the fuel line fitting completely ? My diesel tractor had a 'strainer' inside the fuel that was plugging and behaving exactly the way yours is.

Trace through the fuel system and make sure you have good strong flow at each fitting.

Make sure you blow out all the fuel lines. There might be a plug in one of them.

Other than that... weak fuel pump ?

Good luck, let us know what you find.

Replace any rubber fuel lines if they look old or cracked. I had a truck that acted similar and the hose was breaking up inside shutting the fuel off.
