Just wanted to keep you all posted on my progess.
I had a chance to work on my dozer this past weekend. I put the motor back in, with just a cherry picker alone in the mud. I was having a tough time getting the motor lined up w/ the reverser case, so I made some guide pins out of 5/8" threaded rod. I screwed the rod into the motor. This gave me a straight line to push the motor in place, it worked well. Bolted on the cowl, hooked up the wireing, and fired her up.
Started right up. I shifted in gear and pushed some dirt around. Everything works well. I need to bolt on the grill and bottom guards and then I'm done. I noticed that the power steering lines as well as the power steering reservoir are dry, yet it steers fine. What kind of fluid should I use in the steering sytem? I don't know how long it was dry. Are these systems pretty touchy?
That's about it Steve

Hey Steve glad to hear you got it running, I always use engine oil in steering resv. think JD recommends hyd. oil because its lighter but those seals in the pump on the front of engine leak most times and will put whatever's in the reservior into the engine, if your happy with it I wouldn't mess with it.
