dozer would not move real good when warm. fluids were milky. Changed with JD hy-guard replaced one filter that's located under my left foot and one that runs inline on pickup line to pump. Went like gangbusters for about 10 min, then started acting like its old self, like theres not enough pressure to the clutches. Someone told me there is a screen on the pickup line but i can't seem to find it. also I know of one pump that's ran off the crank (front of the motor). Is there another? the front pump is weeping oil on the input shaft going into the pump. Could it be sucking air at this point? any help would be great thanks Bob

First, have you tried to drain the water out of the tranny?

Oops, forgot to add this: hytran is not the same as hygard. I have tried every concieveable aftermarket fluid in my 500c hydraulics and my 2 stage hydraulic pump howls and cavitates badly on anything other than HyTran. Case equipment still uses HyTran, check with a Case dealer.

thanks Ben, I will tear the rear belly pan off and proceed. I sure hope that the screen is restricting the flow, otherwise I will be looking for the pump. Do you know if that pump is external or the location, can it be taken off without ripping this thing apart from end to end? thanks bobby

Bob, I looked at my manuals for that screen, the fluid circuit diagrams show it but that is the only place where it is referenced. The front mounted pump is for the external hydraulics, loaded cylinders, rippers, etc and are not connected to the drive system. I don't have a parts manual which would probably show the strainer you are looking for, the only hint is that it comes in from the suction line to the pump where you replaced the filters and is located at the bottom of the transmission cavity. I'll do some more research.

thanks F.R. that's sounds like a good possibility, I got this thing stuck big time in mud over the tracks. all this started happening right after. mabey the mud tweeked somthing. i did pressure wash it after the getting stuck incident. mabey the mud made its way between the belly pan and the trans. I will tear the pans off tomarro. a colapsed line sounds more like the problem than the screen being restricted thanks bob
