I have never run a machine with a de-excelarator but I can see how the idea would improve the machine. I would like to know about what makes a good set up since I would like to rig something for my OC-3 with a loader. It might help preserve the clutch. Thanks Vince

Hi, Vince, Hope you don't mind a little correction; the proper term is decelerator, the opposite of accelerate. The ones that have been used on the equipment I have operated were just a mechanical override on the throttle linkedge. Caterpillar recomended their use on the power shift machines when shifting the transmission to lessen the strain on all components. Shifting from forward to reverse, or vise versa, under full engine rpm puts quit a strain on all drive assemblies, especialy the trany. Hope this helps clear up things a little, have a gooder, R.E.L.
