I own a 74' 350B dozer. It runs well. Starts right up, pushes strong etc BUT when I shut it down there is a "clackita-clackita-clackita" rattle as the engine shuts down. Is this some kind of clutch noise? If it was a rod bearing or main bearings I would expect to hear banging and "clacking" at any rpm and under load as with any gas engine. This isn't so. I don't want to do needless damage. Any thoughts?

Thanks Bonde

The Isolator "softens" the torque produced when the rverser is thrown from forward to reverse. It hangs on springs, so when you shut down the motor, the momentum decreses and the Isolator springs relax a bit causeing the clunking.

It is just the "Isolator". It is bolted to the
clutch and flywheel. It's normal to here that.
