Hello, kind of a longshot, but is anybody familiar with the Allison TRT-2220-3 transmissions? I have a Multihoe brand back hoe that uses one of these trannys. It will not move, and the service manual is $150, the parts manual is another $50. Needless to say, I'm trying to avoid shelling out that kind of doe for a 30+ year old machine, but I'm not ready to give it up to the boneyard just yet.

Sounds like the same trans older JD loaders use. What is it doing or not doing? Make shure oil level is up. Tell us more. FRED

It appears to be slipping real bad. When you put it in forward, and rev the motor, you can see the tranny output start to turn, but as soon as it encounters a load, it won't move, then you put it in reverse, and it spins back about a quarter turn, and stops. Fluid level is okay, and loked clean. It has a pressure sending unit on it somewhere, because there is a gauge on the dash for "clutch pressure", but the wires are cut, so I can't follow them to it, I have not been able to locate it yet, and test for pressure (I doubt I have any).
