I have located an old Oliver backhoe, at least that is what I was told it was, but I can not find a name plate. Where would it be located? It is a six cylinder diesel and has been apart for several years. The head and injectors and pump all rebuilt but never installed. Of course the pistons got water in them and are now rusted in. If I can ID this thing, what are my chances of getting the parts I need to finish the rebuild?
Thanks for all help.

Roy - I own a 1970 white/oliver backhoe (2/63-15). It has a Walkinsha diesel. I could email you some pictures if you want. It is a heavy hard worker with some neat features. My biggest expense was putting a seal kit in the hydraulic motor that rotates the hoe. Moocha bucks for a few pieces of plastic and rubber but I had to have it. Let me know if you want those pics. I remember seeing machines like that in the 1960's at a PA. equip dealer. The engine may be a Hercules. Try Zimmerman Oliver-Cletrac, 1-717-738-2573. They should be able to help you with the identity and parts. It sounds like a neat machine to fix up. Let me know, how you make out. Phil
