Bob was right..... Undercarriage, undercarriage, undercarriage. For what it sounds like you'll be using it, 50% UC life will be sufficient although more is always better. Pins, bushings, sprockets, idlers, rollers etc, etc. Does it look like its been in rock? You say it's a Powershift. How much noise/vibration is there when shifting? If the dealer will let you, try to drain a little oil from the final drives and see what it looks like. New paint? Freash paint can sometimes make a machine look much better than it actually is. If all is good, then $12500, plus whatever extra, is a pretty good price. I still see comparable D-6B's and its sister D-5B in only fair shape going for $16500 or more in some places.....

Don't know about prices Oldtimer but I do know it's a good tractor, might be a lot cheaper than a fixerupper in the long run, if you need a dozer.

kinda what I was thinking. Don't know that much about crawlers, many years ago Uncle Sam taught me how to make diesels run but they were power plants.Run some crawlers but never worked on them. Been collecting and restoring wheeled tractors for a few years. thanks for the vote, now gotta covince Mrs. Should be able to use it and then get my money back.Or she can at my estate sale!! OT

Oldtimer, the biggest cost on them is the undercarrage. If the tracks are adjusted up good and the idlers( front wheels) are not near falling off of the front of the track frames you should be okay. Check out a site www.undercarriage.ca and learn about UC wear etc. first. I have not seen the site but have been told it is good.
