Finally changed out crankcase oil, flushed radiator etc. Now the BIG question. Manual clearly shows 3 drain plugs for the bevel gear oil. Where is the plug(s) for the transmission drain(s)??? Manual doesn't point to them and when I look underneath just TOOOO many bolts to twist. HELP is greatly appreciated.

Also, what tool do I need to remove the Final Drive drain plug (fill plugs no problem)??? A large socket maybe????

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,I think a 1 1/2" socket will fit the FD drain plugs, check for metal chips and flakes on the plugs too. If the fill plugs are too hard to move, heat them red hot and let them cool, then they will come out easy. Don;t fear, there should be a small plate on the bottom of the skidpan, with it off you should see the drain plug and a plate with 4 bolts, that is the suction screen, you need a new o ring for the plate too. All the trans oil will come out if you take the plate off later, so get the new o ring before you start. The trans filter is at the top rear of the trans, you need a couple of o rings there too.

Bob;

THANKS for the quick reply. Luckily the FD fill plugs came out easily with 1/2" extension, thank goodness.

Well, will move ahead with more "wrenching"!!!
Thanks
Tom
