My D7 3T is stuck in two gears and am unable to unmesh gears. Any advice on this?

hmmmm, pull shifter handle out of tranny & look into shifter hole.you should see some rods with notches(slots)in them...line all of them up(use a small pry bar or large screwdriver)with notches centered in hole(neutral)& reinstall shifter...cause is usually a worn shifter with gear changes done while not completely stopped...my tractor does it regularly...i need to build up the worn ball on end of shifter...one of those round-to-its:)...

Fork controlling First and Second broke off so while using Third Gear stopped suddenly and First gear partially engaged. Unaware of this happening we pulled the clutch in and everything seized resulting in locked up tranny.

OUCH!!! you may have to pull top off tranny & see if you can pry the shift collars out of engagement...try rolling engine backwards while clutch is engaged.that would probably remove some stress keeping everything stuck...does it have a pto???sometimes you can turn tranny backwards with them(must be engaged & steering handles tied back).you are most likely going to have to turn tranny backwards to get it out of gears...might be able to pull tractor backwards if you have something big enough...good luck...

look at clutch housing to see if there is an access hole on top to adjust main clutch.if there is(i'm almost sure there is)you can gain access to main clutch & flywheel there & may be able to bar engine backwards there...you will have to remove some floorplates to gain access...

Tried all this before. I think it comes down to finding something big enough to pull it backwards. Thanks for your input ,you obviously have intimate experience with these machines! I am on holidays away from my "Cat" this week and will let you know what eventually transpires....
