There is a 1010 crawler with a 5 speed trans. listed on ebay! Has anyone ever heard of a five speed? Could it be a five speed out of a tractor? The trans in my 1010 crawler hoe is shot. Looking for parts, or complete trans. Please email, or post a message. Thanks DCase

If your looking for a parts tractor, I might let mine go, it's a 68 1010c diesel. Trans is ok.
Engine lets water in to the oil, but I want to keep the model #51 hoe as I'm getting an older gas 1010c dozer. I'll miss the reverser.

Unless one from a tractor has been stuck in there, they are listing it incorrectly, is should be a 4 speed.

If you want, post on my website for a transmission or parts and maybe someone cam help. I have no 1010 transmissions right now.

Thanks Lavoy! Does this mean it is possible to put the tractor 5 speed in the crawler? Were they any better trans? Does anything special have to be done, or does the entire trans. just bolt right in? Thanks DKase

I don't know if it would fit or not. If the case is the same between the two, it might be possible, but on the two cylinder crawlers, some of the gears are different. I don't have a tractor parts book so I can't cross reference between the two to tell you for sure one way or the other. My guess is that it won't, or if it will, it will have unsatisfactory gearing. For all of the work it takes to replace a transmission, I would put in the correct one.
