Int TD 20 B

Hi everyone

I was planing on looking at a TD20B dozer soon and was wondering what to check for?

Any problem areas,what year was the TD20B made? does it weigh about 20 ton? The TD20B has power shift trans. Thanks for the info. Michael (WV)

A mate of mine thought the worst part of the TD 20B was the DT 429 motor. He thoght the casting in the block was to weak which allowed the crankshaft to flex to much which then resulted in breaking the crankshaft. Matt

TD20 B was made from 1963 to 1967 or 1968
It weight around 18 metric tons with angle dozer.
Engine is turbocharged DT 429 6 cyl diesel.
It uses a 2 speed for each direction powershift, a hi/lo manual lever and a torque converter. It seems that power shift can have problems when oil goes to hot. The first models had a power shift command wich seems to be dificult to set up (a lot of rods)

We dismanteled all the parts during restoring and we saw that it's strongly made!
