Love this site. I have spent hours gleaning much information. Now I need help. I just purchased a Ford 550 Loader bachoe. It is in great shape and based on what I have read, it is an industrial model with a plate steel front with holes in it for air flow. I have looked all over this thang and outside of the ROPS numbers on the roof, I cannot find any serial numbers. It has been repainted and I had to scratch off paint just to get the ROPS numbers. It has a three cylinder diesel, with a four speed shuttle shift transmission. I think it is a 70's vintage. I had a brief experience with a ford 4500 and all the serial numbers were on a single plate under the lift hood, but this one has a hood bolted down. Anyone know where the serial numbers are? Thanks.

I have recently received one of these 550s. Seems to be in great shape and working fine. While I do not need one, I can't seem to find much on them or their value. Can anyone please let me know more about them.

Thanks
BB

Should be stamped on top of the clutch housing by the starter.
