I just purchased a TD-15 with a blown up motor, and am now looking for a short block and other parts for it. My question is how do I determine which motor is in it. Where do I look for the Engine Stampings, don't they typically have like a casting number on them, where would that be.

What motor depends on wahat sereis of TD15 it is - does it start on gas and run on diesel, if it is a RD15B it has wither the DT361 or DT407, if it is the td15c it has the dt466. look on the side of the engine block there should be a place about 1" high and about 3" long where the serial number is stamped in - the first part of serial will tell which engine it is

How old is it Walter? If it's a late 70's it might be a 466TD and I think they have something like that stamped by the serial #.
