does the 450 dozer use the same engine as any of the ag. tractors? The 2030 or something close? Can you use the cheaper ag. parts to rebuild the dozer engine or is this just wishful thinking? Thanks in advance, David

Yes they did, depending on the age of the JD450. The JD450 evolved over the years, getitng bigger engines. The earlier ones ('60's) used the 202 c.i. engine which was used in the contemporary 2020, then evolving thru the 219 ci (2030 ag tractor) and then the 276 ci (current) which were all also used in the corresponding HP size ag tractors. The dozer engines may have had different setups, i.e. injector pump settings, crankcase capacities, etc. but the basic engine was the same.
hope this helps
