543 Bobcat one more time

The fuel gauge does not work. I assume that it must be one of three things 1. gauge itself 2. the tank sending unit 3. the wiring for that circuit. Without testing, my guess is that it most likely is the tank sending unit- my experience with other equipment leads me to that conclusion. Ideas/suggestions?

Turn the key switch on, flip cab back so you can get to the tank sending unit, remove the wire going to unit, momentarily ground it to something while your doing this watch the gauge to see if it moves, if so 1. you know the wiring is ok 2. the gauge works
