Thanks for all the information. Here is what I have found. The serial no. tag evidently has been removed. The studs are there, but no tag. There is a number 67 on the right side by the gear shift alongside an IH sign. It is a 4 cylinder diesel. I think that makes it a 500. Do all of the 500's use the same manual, and will parts of a different year fit them all? ie. will parts on a 66 fit a 67? I know the 500c and 500e are different, but are the 500 parts the same. I also read that parts of a model 364 tractor will fit and something about engine parts with the number BD154. Any ideas before I spend a mint buying 3 different manuals for 500, 500c and 500e.

I am in the process of buying a international dozer from a friend of mine. Am trying to findout some info. on this dozer. He doesn't know what yr it is and says it is a 500D and has a 5 digit s/n from what he can see on dozer. I haven't had any luck in finding any info. on a 500d. It is a diesel engine and also has a cargo brand winch ataached to the rear. can anyone tell me where the serial # would be on this piece of equipment. all the pictures I have seen in ads show a 14 digit serial #, but not where to find it. I think the number he gave me may be an engine #. That # is H-535 p or b ? can anyone help, thanks M.J.Corse

BD154 is a IH engine. I just finished rebuilding one in a IH 384. I got the manual here. It's a P/N IH-S-BC144+. It's just an engine manual that covers the "ENGINE BC144, BD144A, BD154 FOR 500Crawler. A decent manual (just decent). It a B/W copy of another one.

Good Luck,
Rob
