Are ground pressure and traction related. It seems that many manufactures claim to have low ground pressure with great traction, but this seems to be contridictory. Also, does anyone know the typical ground speeds of caterpillar track loaders in the 900 series. Thanks.

Tony you can get the same traction of maybe more with a low ground pressure machine because the grouser bars are longer due to the wider track shoes. They just spread the weight over more area of ground and don't sink in as far. I will need to look up the speeds and post back. The Hystat 943/53/63/73's are much faster than the power shift machines and more manouverable too. the tradeoff is more undercarrage wear though.
