I looked at an Allis Chambler HD-4 Dozier today. It has a 6 way blade and is a good size for me. The asking price was $8000.00. Is this reasonable? I can already see that the hydraulic cylinder rods don't have good chrome on them. Also the tracks are stretched which is obvious due to the pitch of the track not matching with the sprockets. Other little odds and ends need attention. Can parts be obtained for the machines? Is it a good dozer to consider? If parts can be obtained are they resonable enough to make this a good buy? I have no idea what year it is.

The 6 way blade is an extra ,but the tractor is only worth about $3000 and that is with useable tracks. I wish I could get $8000 for my HD5

$8000.....Ouch. Seems a little steep to me. From the way your describing it it sounds to me like $2500-$3000 is more reasonable. If it needs an undercarriage plan on spending $1500-$2000 and thats if you do the work yourself. (all but pin and bushings). That tractor was not one of the best out there either. Definately not worth $8000.
