I have an old crawler with a Drott 4 in 1 bucket. Great little machine, but don't know much about the Drott. Has anyone here ever really worked one?

What are the strong points of a convertible loader like this?

The Drott 4+1 buckets are a nice bucket they were basicaly case loaders or thats where you can buy parts for then You can also get parts through internationl or dresser dealers. I have worked on the buckets b/f on a 175 b modle international track loader.

major disadvantage that I've had with the Drott design is that the center support bar for the bucket is pretty limiting of the things you can pick up in the clamshell mode. Mine is on an old Massey Furgeson (Fiat) crawler, and it's a working fool. Lifting power is amazing, and bulldozer work is rough but effective.

I don't have a drott but i do have a 4 in 1 bucket on my skdsteer and love it !!!! you can open to a dozer blade and you can grab onto logs poles odd size stuff you can also crush stuff and you can scoop toward you if need be . open it and slide down over metal fence poles close and pull them concret and all. and your not getting out to push stuff in bucket that is not gong in or falling out open the bucket and close down on it. if to tall to tip bucket in truck you can open it and stuff will fall out of it also . once you use one you find more things they will do
