The transmission filter restriction light comes on after the machine runs for an hour or so. The filters are new, the pressure is fine and the temperature is normal. Dealer says it is probably an inline thermostat. Just looking for another opinion before trying this.

This is a large crawler/loader correct ??? If so , the switch should be on the top of the filter assembly in that right side compartment. If you have one of the old filters, you may want to cut it open ,and inspect the filter media.. just to ease your mind if there is a question as to wether or not the indicator may be telling the "truth"??? It may be due to a faulty sensor as it should come on more frequently when the oil is cold...

Where did you get the new filter Larry? A Deere filter should be okay but sometimes they tighten up the MICRONS( make them finer) and things like this happen. The reason that it takes some time for the light to come on is that they usually put a temp senser in the system to keep it off untill the oil comes up to operating temp. If the filter is too fine then it will build too much back pressure and turn the light on. Or the oil might be too thick . Check the oil grade and see what they say about the filter first.
