I made a living grading with an hd-4. good moter cranks, easy, runs good. only problems I had was pickup tube for torque conv. was a press fit that came lost at odd times caysing machine to stall for a few moments till it picked up fluid, also final drive is pretty light so don't tru to do more than it was made to do, also it is hand steer, next modelwas 655, it was pedal steer much easier to operate. The AC HD 4 was built from 1965 to 1969, then it became the 650 models. They are powered with the AC D-2200 diesel engine. They are very good engines. The machines were good ones, maybe the final drives were a little weak but other than that they were good. We had an HD 4 dozer for years and it was a tough little customer. It could really push for its size. How is the unercarriage on this machine, does it steer good? Does it start up easily? I have an HD 4 loader I looking to sell. rebuilt injection pump and injectors, rebuilt starter, new water pump and belts. Runs good. From sitting the pins and bushing are frozen. Looking to get $2500 for it. Email me if interested. I'm in New Jersey. Phil
