I am having transmission problems with my case 580e All reverse gears are fine but I have almos lost 3rd and 4th completely and 1st and second need to be revved up to engage.

I hae checked transmission fluid level and it is good. My manual does not address this problem in the drivetrain section.

You are having the typical shuttle failure. There is a belleville type spring that returns the fwd clutches when pressure is taken from the clutch pack. That spring will fail with time, it is nothing you did. It will cause fwd to go. Call DEPCO in Indianapolis they can sell you a rebuild kit for a lot less than Case.

Sounds like your forward clutch pack is worn out.

May have to drop out shuttle and overhaul. Might consider replacing control valve while your at it.

I went through a 580se and it improved more after I replaced the control valve.

I would also replace bottom screen, not just clean it.
