I was given and hauled home a Cat TEN and a RD4 this weekend. I found the serial # on the RD4 but not the TEN. Does anyone know where I would begin to look for that one. It is pretty rusted over so nothing is visible to the naked eye. I'm looking forward to restoring these CAT's so any and all input will be greatly appreciated!! Got Parts?

Thank-you, JON

The serial numbers are located, 1-stamped on the engine block above the carberator I think toward the front where the head meets the block. 2 just forward of the shifter on a flat spot on the trans. case. The most valuble part and the hardest to get is a good original carberator as they were made of pot metal and fall apart with time. If yours is good hold on it like it is gold.

The serial no. on a 10 is also often stamped into the top RH side of the rad, where the headlight would mount. On the engine, it may be on the LH side at the front where a generator would go. Always look on a flat machined surface. The first letters should be PT.
