I have an IH 674 - model # I674D-RC, with a front end loader. I loaned it to my brother and his son was apparently using it to ram stumps and small trees. Now it won't move forward or reverse except occasionally very slightly. May be my imagination but it seems to move better if the hydrolic lift is moved up and down. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be? Thanks.

I took the bottom plate (what I always called the gravel pan) off at the bottom of the bellhousing and couldn't see anything obvious wrong. The clutch looks good. One thing I don't know...should the throw-out bearing be tight against the pressure plate or should it spin freely if the clutch is NOT depressed? Thanks for the help

If it has the TA(Torque Ampilfier) then the transmission control valve may need resealing.

It was a hi/lo shifter that can be shifted without the clutch.

Sounds like he may have thrown the faces off the cluch (if equipped). If I remember correctly, there is a plate that can be unbolted on the bottom of the bell housing. Remove and inspect.
