Just bought an old 112 grader, 4 cylinder with pony motor. I need to know what it weighs. It will fit on my gooseneck but I don't want too much on the truck and trailer.

Thanks Mark

Hi,
If you can provide a ser.# prefix I can give you a better idea of what the weight actually is.

Hi, Mark. The 112's were basically a four-cylinder-engined version of the Cat 12's of the time so almost the only weight difference will be the two cylinders less in the engine. They did, so I'm told, have a heavier flywheel to compensate for the lower power and so the weight difference may not even be that great. Somewhere around 12 tons plus or minus a few pounds, depending on the vintage - heavier as they get younger.
Happy hauling.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

My 212 Cat grader weigh's 14,000 no cab but has a scarifier. 12.00X24 tires. I think a 112 weighs around 16,000 or 17,000. Dont think I would try to pull it with a pickup and trailer. Frank
