A co-worker found a H-3 ser.2 crawler for sale, but he isn't sure what its worth. It runs good, but needs track/undercarridge replaced he says.
This is a good site. Keep up the interesting info.

I agree with drott, I have a H3 that I'm redoing the undercarrage on. And it was in bad shape. If you don't have the means to make your own parts or rebuild the ones you take off you had better have deep pockets. You can get some parts by going through a dealer from Minnpar. A front idler axle 190.00 thats just a 12" long 2" dia. piece of round rod. Support idler one each side 400.00 and the list goes on. Pins and bushing 1400.00 for the bushings and 900.00 for the pins and they need to be cut to the right lenght then shipping to where ever.I just picked-up my chains 500.00 and I made the pins and bushings I just had them pressed in. Buy your bearing and seals from somebody local and you cut better than half the price off them.

Don't get me wrong I really like my H3 and think that there are a great machine for the size. But you need to be able to machine some things yourself.

www.machinerytrader.com can give you and idea of what it is worth. Since it sounds like the U/C is shot on the machine. I would only pay salvage wt on the machine. What could you make on the machine if you took it to the scrap yard. It will cost depnding how bad the UC is close to 3-5K to fix it all up. If you want there is a track and undercarrage forum at www.ibdozing.com in their discussion boards and you can ask halftrack more specific questions about the repairs on that machines U/C
