Hi, Lisa. I am an Australian male and I have an e-mail friend in New York State who is a lady operator of, among other things, heavy cranes. She also has a web site, see below, or you can do a search for Marianne C. Rafferty. I think she would be pleased to hear from another lady operator.

I have 40 years bum-on-seat operating experience on almost all types of earthmoving equipment plus cranes and road trucks (didn't like that - yer git to play with damned idiot motorists) And I have seen about 1/2 a dozen woman operators in all that time. (In Australia.) The only one on tracks was a young lass who was operating a 20 ton excavator. There are a lot more women operating machinery, mainly dump trucks, in the large mines and some hard rock quarries.

I have been looking for MANY years for a woman -- or three -- who wanted to learn to run 'dozers, track loaders, etc.. No takers so far.

Keep on doing it while ever you are enjoying it.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I am especially a crane operator, finish blacktop, and loader operater.I am pleased to meet you and you might want to check out my site and visit my guest book where quite a few other lady operators have left there emails and info. Nice to Meet You!Any more Lady Operators out there? We could use more photos on my site of people other than me and my friend Cindy

When I was farming big, I had a couple of gal tractor drivers. They were the best I had and the repairs on their equipment was less that on wot the guys drove!

this isn't my forum but your question caught my eye. The woman who lives down the road from me drives and uses all sorts of equipment. I have seen her using their backhoe. Like you she is a nice looking woman. I beleive that if they owned a crawler she would indeed drive it. her mother, brother and she aside from owning a farm also ran a concrete company and then a gravel pit. She's something

PS she also usually drives in shorts It's a wonder there aren't more traffic accidents

I worked with a lady that ran a TS14 B Terex scraper. she was fair on a dozer and pretty good on a back hoe. I also work in a quarry sometimes with a several women truckdrivers both 18 wheeelers and the big offroad trucks.

Well, a few years back I had a girl in my driver education class who was running her dad's bulldozer for her summer job. She did a great job on the road with a car too.

My wife is a farm girl, and doesn't hesitate to hop aboard a tractor and do what's needed. I don't have any worries about her tractor driving! (Probably would need a little on-the-job training for dozer or backhoe though.)

Neighbor lady runs the 4wd truck and plows the snow. The road commission driver assigned to our township by the county is a lady - she runs the big truck/grader/snow plow, and the tractor with the sidemount rotary cutter, mowing roadsides.

My wife has her CDL with tanker and has-mat endorsements. Right now she drives a $325,000 NG 40 foot municipal bus. My sisters complained that my dad allows her to drive his tractors (she loves to bush-hog) but didn't encourage his daughters to drive tractor. His comment is, "if you drove a 40ft bus in city traffic, I'd let you drive my tractors in an open field too!" She plans to build a pond on our farm this summer with our dozer. I also plan to teach her to run the backhoe. She grew up as a city girl until we got married and I corrupted her. We have a JD440IC dozer and a NewHolland TC40 with subframe backhoe and loader.

A local road contractor has two female D-9 dozer operators. He claims that they are his best operators because after they are done on a road cut there isn't any finish work left to do -- just bring out the straw blower.

My daughter has been operating our TD340 since she was about 13. Decided that excavation was so much fun that she decided to become a surgeon. I guess it's mostly cutting and filling. Recently, the senior surgeon she trained with came to visit and wanted to make sure he got his turn on the equipment too.

Lot's of us ladies have been farming and skidding for years (30 + for me) and still going strong. Just take a gander at the gals up in Booneville sometime too! I was skidding a job at 7 monthes pregnant too but I got to where I couldn't get my foot up high enough to get on the darn skidder...oh well the job got finished anyway. But yeah! I still put up hay and plow and ted and rake and load and drive the dump truck and run whatever when ever the need arises...glad to see you have faith in your daughter! Keep on keeping on!

Our neighbour had a great idea-his wife would lift him up in the front end loader bucket and he could easily pick the apples. She got confused on the controls and dumped hubby out of the bucket, breaking his arm. She twisted the P.T.O. shaft off the baler by turning too sharp. Guys as well as girls can make mistakes tho.
