Looking at a Cat D-5B 77'model. It will need pins turned and growsers soon, otherwise sound with recent rebuilds on 3306 engine and transmission. Can I solicit opinions of fair value for a maching like this? Its intended use is around the ranch to clear stumps and small undergrowth and some sitework for a home. Are there any unique attributes about this dozer that I should be aware of? Thanks in advance, Brad

I run a D5B at a wood waste landfill there good stout machines but we did have alittle trouble with the Ring gear and pinion. onece and its goin out again, But we ve bladed over half a million yards of dirt garbage and stumps. Id have samples pulled from the transmission oil pan and final drives. If its run too long on the pins and bushings you ll be in trouble with the undercarriage. I like the one at work the JD man keeps hasseling us to go to a 750 JD but the ones they bring us are bigger then the % but dont as well in our opinion. Best reguards Taylor Lambert

If the fountain runs dry, give this a shot.
