the rh steering clutch beak is week. It has an adjustment on the side of the sprocket drive housing. Do you screw in or out to tighten the break?

third gear in the power shift has not worked sense we bought it 1 year ago. you could go from 2-3 and it acted like you went to 1. I thought that 1 and 2 went together to make 3 and 2 was not engaging in the third slot. But I was using it the other night and put it in third on a dead head just for the heck of it and low and behold it kicked in. got to my truck and put it in 3 forward and it worked too.
What is going on here? Thank you Jon

If you look out by the sprocket at about the 2oclock position you will see the adjusting screw - it takes a 1 1/2 wrench to loosed up the jam nut and a 3/4 on the adjusting bolt - turn it in just till makes contact and back off 2 flats then tighten the jam nut. The left side has a adjuster in the same area on left side. As far as the shifting check to see if the lever is hitting the top plate and not allowing the valve to go all the way back to go into gear.
