International dozer / Bucyrus Erie cylinder rebuild cost

I have a 1949 TD9 which runs excellent but the lift cylinders started leaking very bad Igot an estimate from a hydraulic repair shop for $1100.00 to do a complete rebuild including new rods is this agood price or does anyone know of any used ones?

I have a TD-6 about the same age and problem. I polished the exposed rams with fine emery cloth with the blade all the way down (they were rusty), added Lucas Hyd. oil additive, and back off the packing retaining bolts when not in use. When I go to use it, I tighten the packings back down.The Lucas works good with the leather seals. I'm down to a drip instead of a stream and it's cheaper than rebuilding the rods.

all the chrome is gone from the rams but I will give it a shot Iwould still like to find some replacements in better condition if any one has anything let me know thanks for the advice on the lucas.

hmm, thought my case dealer was talking $100 per cylinder. You can purchase a rebuild kit and do it yourself for cheap. I guess if they
need to be rechromed, that might get pricey...
