I have a 61 model with serial number 15294 and the tracks are tightened by a hydraulic cylinder. I don't have a manual, so how does this actually work? Is there a lever to actuate these cylinders on the tractor that i have not found yet, or is it done by a manual hydraulic pump? Is this an original 1010 option, I thought that this came out with the 350 and newer machines.

As you've already been told, it adjusts by pumping with a grease gun. If it still has the button head grease fitting in it, you can replace it with a regular grease fitting, just don't make the track too tight. Many 1010s had a threaded rod track adjuster, but some had the optional hydraulic adjuster like you have. These usually leak and won't stay tight unless updated to later 350 parts. The reason being the piston in the adjuster had an inadequate seal-ring. We used to remove the pistons and have the ring-groove machined to accept the bigger and better seals used in the late 350, 350B, 350C, etc. crawlers.

Daniel, Thanks for the serial numbers. Mine is a 63 1010 crawler loader. Same tractor only mine has a bucket.

Daniel, you will have to by a special grease head for your grease gun . You can buy them at your JD dealer for about $25.00. Those grease fittings are called button head grease fittings. They are also on your track rollers.

Daniel, The adjuster works with a grease gun. There is a grease fitting on the top front of the adjuster, you pump it up with the grease gun. If you want to retract it you losen the set screw and let the grease out. Thanks Ray
