450 Case Vreses 350 JD

I was wondering how reliable a trans & final's on a 1970 450 case dozer are am trying to decide whether to keep the JD 350 or Case 450.

I've had both. Couldn't give me another Deere Crawler. No comparison. Keep the Case!!!

The Case 450 has basically the same transmission as the 850. So considering the 450 puts out 50hp where the 850 puts out 70hp, to me that relates to a well designed transmission for the 450. Can say to much about the JD for I am more of a Case loyalist than a Deere. I am also sold on the power to the tracks if you use the speed clutch packs to steer with over the steering clutches or brakes.

My Case 450 has been stone reliable, and i'd NOT trade it even up, for a "new" deere 350 if they made them today yet! Robert

doug i have run 450 and 450as since 1974 and have never seen the inside a transmission yet oscar
