I am lookng at a HD7 with a baker blade, and would like to know this this unit weighs, and what a fair price would be? can't from the picture if it has the Allis 4 cylinder diesel, or the 3 cylinder Detriot. The tin is in great shape, and the guy says everything works and it runs real good. I am going to try and post the picture in this message, but if it doesn't work I can send a picture to anyone that would like to help determine price and which engine it has. Thanks in advance for any help. Darrell Jr {MN}

Nice machine. Should go for b/w 3-5 depending upon UC. The motor is easily repairable. The UC is very tough to find parts for. The truck frames were also know for cracking on those because of the design and placement of the cylinders.

That had the older style mono block rear end. If you can find an HD5 or HD9 you would have a better chance for parts. I have been helping someone find parts for over year for one HD7. If the machine has a good UC than it will be more worth on the higher end.

Where are you at in MN. I know of where there is an HD7 right now in South Eastern KS I do not know the condition of UC. One problem is the prior previous owner cut the final drive assembly off thinking that is how he got the tracks off. OOPS that is the end of that machine.

Look at www.ibdozing.com largest site for AC crawlers on the web. Lots of AC guys there.

Nice looking machine. It should have a 3-71 GM and the HD-7 weighed about 7 tons bare. You can add another ton or two for the blade.

As with all crawlers, the value is mostly determined by the undercarriage. Dosen't matter how well they run if the tracks/rollers/spockets/idlers are worn out. The HD-7s are old enough it is getting hard to find good parts. Having said that if this machine has a good undercarriage it may be worth 4-5K. Just up the street from me is a guy who is re-cycling HD-7s, he buys them, takes them down to the frame and rebuilds with good parts and seals, and paints them. He just sold one with blade, winch and canopy for $6,700.
