I have a 1970 Case D450 that the upper roller is sloppy in the mount. It has all new rollers, track and such at this time. I suspect that someone used with worn out roller and it oblonged the hole. It allows the roler to tip down about 1/4 inch on the outside edge. Can this simply be welded up and ground back down to fit properly?

Thanks

is the roller loose on the shaft ? or the shaft loose in the holder? if roller loose on shaft check your bearings. if loose in holder you might have to replace the shaft or build it up [a little over size] if hole in holder is worn then you got trouble. is the bolt to tighen the the shaft in the holder good.

The complete bearing assy is new. The shaft is lose in the holder because the hole in the holder is oblonged. That is why I was wondering if that could be built up by welding.
