I have to pull the final drive housing off my 450c JD (I have a leak that i have to fix) to repair a couple stripped holes in the frame that holds the housing on. How do I go about pulling the final drive and do I have to be cautions about any problems.

I am not a certified deere machanic. But I have one apart right now. are you sure it is not only the oil seal around the axle leaking. that can be fixed with out pulling the housing. I don't think the housing bolts to the frame only directly to the transmittion case. Are you sure those bolts are pulled??Let me know if I can help Good luck
