That is why I did not add it, I assumed that he only wanted the actual Deere built crawlers.

The BO lindeman and MC are basically the same. In the early 50's John Deere bought out lindeman (instead of selling their machines) and bought all the remaining lindeman parts which were used up in the MC and 40C line. In 1953, i think, the 40 was made with available track options and John Deere started the full manufacturing process for crawler tractors.

MC and Lindeman are quite different. THe Lindeman uses the engine and transmission of a BO tractor. The M uses an upright Dubuque engine, and Dubuque transmission. The only similarity is they both use 3 roller undercarraige, as did the 40C for the 1953 model year. The 4 and 5 roller undercarraige was introduced for the 1954 model year.
John Deere bought out Lindeman before the MC was introduced, and the main powertrain was assembled in Dubuque, Iowa with the rest of the M series. The powertrain was then shipped to Yakima where the undercarraige was installed.
