I have a D3B ser#027YO4543 that pin came out of the C-Frame (lower rear part of frame). Someone had repaired this before by welding it and the weld broke. I bought the new pin assembly parts from the dealer. The new parts require them to be installed from inside the C-Frame and to drill and tap 2 - 1/2 holes in the C-Frame. Can all of this be done with the C-Frame attached to the Dozer?
Thanks
Steve

It would be difficult but could be done Steve. The problem here is the wear in the bores, the pin goes into. If the bore is worn the pin will get forced around and shear the new bolts off again. That is likely why it was welded. You might be best to just weld this one back in. If you want to do it right, the Cframe needs to come off. Then drill out the bolts, weld up the pin holes and get them line bored back to size. Then change the bearings in the two large Eye Bolts in the hard bar. Did you get the starter problem taken care of?
