I was going to adjust the kick over on the main clutch on a 1953 HT4, after opening the cover I saw a linkage for adjustment. I let my ajile son remove the cotter pin and clevis pin because he could wiggle between the levers. After making the adjustment he was putting back the clevis pin and dropped it in the bell housing area. We spent hours searching for it with magnets and coat hangers. It must have slid up to the front of the tranny. Is there clearance for the pin to stay and not cause a problem? There is a lot of goo that the pin to sink into to keep it from bouncing around.

That pin will probably not cause any problem. It will probably find its way out the drain hole if there is no plug in it. There is an inspection cover that can be accessed from underneath, you might be able to find it that way. that is not the way to adjust the clutch anyway. You should get an instruction book. Loosen 3/4" head lock nut and rotate clutch collar.

Thanks Tom I am going to try again to find it but with your information I will sleep better and adjust the clutch properly. This is my first time looking at the clutch, what does that drip oiler that goes to a funnel lubricate?

The funnel feeds the throw out bearing, book said lube every 10 hours. I had to pay $40.00 for an operators manual, worth every penney.
