Have an old Austin Mfg towed Road Grader. Seems to be from the 20's. Can someone give me info on parts, value etc if they saw a photo?

Thanks

Chris,

Austin I don't know but I routinely use a towed road grader, works great. Mine's a Gallion. Around here the value, independent of brand but depending on features, is worth $200-1000, if you can find somebody who wants to sell one. Is yours 2 or 4 wheel? Then you get into adjustments and blade size. Was that a joke about getting parts for it?

When mine was retrieved it had 4" trees growing through it. The guy I bought it from was highly amused that I wanted to work it. Took me a little head-scratching to figure out where everything was mounted as the wooden operator's deck was long gone. The remains of the wooden yoke got replaced by steel. The steel spoked wheels had ancient Jeep tires, now Michelins on Dodge rims. It was already missing the rein ring so I mounted a Mercury hood ornament there. Works like a dream, other than requiring an operator. I gather you're not using yours?

I have a tow behind austin grader. The mfg. tag says Austin mfg. Chicago, Il. Shop #6108. Does anyone have value on a grader like this. It is a 4 wheel. (iron wheel)
