HD7W axle RR

I bought an HD7W dozer. Runs and steers great! U/C has 2 bad rollers I mean BAD! the shafts are half worn thru. I have made new shafts have the bearings and new seals on order..

My problem is the right rear axle. I think because the rollers ( also on the right side) were bad and the block and bushing that attaches the rear mount of the blade was also sloppy the axle broke. I got a new axle as part of the deal. Right now I am trying to remove the old axle. I have a book but it does not tell you much about the axle. I have the final drive gear and housing off. I also have the cover off of the bevel gear housing. I can see both ends of the axle and I have removed a set screw that holds it in.
So far I have welded a 1"-8 nut on the broken end and have tried using a jack screw to pull the shaft out. I hasen't budged. My next idea was to put a porta-power or bottle jack inside the bevel gear housing and try and push the axle out.

Anybody else ever remove one of these axles?

I have not taken apart the sprocket shaft yet but i have had most of the dozer apart a one time or another including the steer clutches. I have the original allis repair and parts manual for your dozer if it would be any help let me know?

I have a reproduction manual and I think I found th section on the axle. It is very short. The manual covers HD 7 10's & 14's

I have made a puller that I welded to the end of the broken shaft. I have 4 1-8 bolts that are pushing against the housing. I had to use an indicator to see the first movment. 3 hours with a 3 foot cheater bar and I am about an 1 1/2 out of the housing. It never got easier after it started moving....no pop ya know! Ran out of weekend had to leave. I will go back and finsh this weekend. I have the new bearings. Getting the new shaft back in has me a little concerned.....I figure something out. I think dry ice....

Thanks for the reply and I may need help with those clutches some day.
