I have the orginal cap on my 1950 TD9 but I can't get it to stop sloshing out either around the cap or through the vent. Any solutions

Make a neorprene ring. That will stop the leaks around the cap. On the top end you can either use a hydraulic breather assembly and mount it on the top or use an internal filter assembly to keep it from splashing so hard against the cap.

One of the problems you face is that guys have fuel caps, they want to sell you the whole tank.

I can check. The laster B models may have used the same cap. Komatsu has those still in inventory. I can check this weekend on my 9's that I have.
