helping a friend with a JD 350 Crawler, machine runs fine and will move forward and bcakward just fine until you come to an incline or attempt to make a turn or attempt to use the front loader, then the machine will stop moving, the rpm of the motor will not change and continues to run fine, any help would be gratly appreciated.

You didn't mention if you've tried it with the reverser in forward and reverse, i.e. if you put the transmission in reverse ane the reverser in reverse - so the machine will go forward, will it still slip? Also, when it stops moving, does it feel like it has completely stopped trying and does not labor at all? If so, might be the splined coupler is shot between the reverser and the transmission. Another thing, a long shot at that, is check the reverser clutch pedal. Sometimes debris can stuck behind the pedal linkage, and also the return spring gets stretched - all causing the pedal not to return fully. Of course, when you get all done you might decide it's your steering clutches that are shot or way out of adjustment.

IF the machine has a reverser, check the fluid level, maybe change the filter. WOuld sound like low pressure to the clutch packs.

The hydraulic pressure was tested at the valve body and read as follows: in and out of the valve body 120#, into the cooler 90# out of the cooler to the clutch 25#.

Thanks

That is about right. The clutch valve pressure could be bumped up some, but that in itself is not likely the problem. I have heard of the pistons getting sticky from sludge or whatever. About all you can do is bump the pressure up to 130 or a little over, and speed up the forward reverse delay faster than you would normally want it and see if they will engage better. Otherwise, may be worn clutch discs.
Only other wild guess is steering clutches slipping?

I have a 350C with the same problem. It was a forest service dozer. I need some help.
