AC HD 6 rear PTO, RPM, and manual questions

New to the forum, got lots of questions, would appreciate any info. My dad just bought an AC HD6 crawler. Pretty clean, with what appears to be a factory cab. I've found several places that sell photo-copied manuals, any recommendations on who does a good job on these reprints, or is there a good source for used manuals?

The HD6 is being used to root rock out of a field and pull a disc, seems to run and operate well. My dad has been powering a Belsaw sawmill with his Farmall H, but wants to run it off the HD6. The crawler originally had a hydraulic pump on the rear, but the seller had a pto shaft/rear carrier fabricated for it (clean enough job, but I dunno...), with a short drive shaft to a 2-speed pump-driver gear box. Problem is the gear box turns reverse so the whole cobbled together affair is basically useless for running the mill.

First question: Would a PTO off the back be running at the same RPM as the engine, or would it be stepped down? What RPM would a stock pto shaft on this crawler run at?

Second question: Any suggestions on where to find a stock rear pto for the HD6?
Thanks
DJ

I once had a hd5 and it had factory ,reversable direction, PTO unit on it. The are made and you might be able find on thru a dozer dealer. Used mine for years to run a grain tank auger.

Was the PTO on your HD5 straight through, or did it kick down to 540 (or whatever the usual is for older tractors)?

Dave was straight thru to the transmission. Ran about 540 when the 5 was wound up. Could leave the transmission in netural and run grain auger. Was reversable gear box. You might call Tractor Service and supply Columbus Ohio 1800 848 9458. On Ac guys and they might find one on the parts locator system. Sold my 5 15 years ago , went out of state. Now have a HD21 Bob Ohio
