Entirely new to dozers I threw a track going over a log while turning. The adjusters are froze up and the tracks and rollers are worn, Any ideas? Is there one pin made to come apart easier than the rest? Thanks.

back the track tension adjusters all the way off, jack it up and block it, the easiest way to start is on the back get it up on the sprocket, then get it up on the top roller, if you can get part of the track on the front idler, then try puttin it in gear and rollin the dozer forward, it should roll on over the idler. just make sure when you let it down that you havent missed a tooth on the sprocket

I've put the track back on my John Deere 420 by putting a short piece of chain thru a sprocket hole just forward of the bottom and threading it thru the nearest track link. Bolt the ends together and move the machine slowly ahead. You may have to repeat the process to get it all the way on. Raise it up and get the track under the rollers first with a bar. HTH

There is a master pin on the track. It is ususlly identified by a dimple in the center of the pin. Depending on the age and condition of the tracks, the pin can be driven out with a pin hammer and a big sledge. Otherwise you will have to heat the link and then try to drive the pin out. Donīt lose the washers. Hopefully the master pin has not been welded in, in which case the pin will have to be burned out.Any of this is not a one man job. You will have to free up the adjusters and address the worn undercarriage parts now, or you are going to become a real expert at putting tracks back on.
