I have had this crawler for 3 yrs. and this weekend I got a leak under the dozer.I dropped the belly pan and found a small round hole about 1/4 in. that is about 4 inches in front of the hyd. drain plug. Just sitting and running it doesn't leak there but once I start using the tranny it is leaking bad out that hole. Is it a freeze plug hole or what? Nobody can give me a answer or even tell me where to find a answer. The JD dealer in my area says he has no clue.

Hi Randy, I have worked on several JD crawlers and even own a 1010. The problem you describe sounds like trans oil leaking from the input seal and dripping out of the bellhousing weep hole. Unfortunatly the only way to be sure and repair the problem is to remove the engine. However the engine removes rather easily. Once the hood and grill shroud are removed remove hydro pump and move to one side with lines attached. The engine and radiator now remove as a unit. This is the basic proceedure other items such as fuel lines hyd line mounting clamps ect must be removed. It may look overwelming at first but good basic mechanical ability you should be able to remove it in less than half a day. Good luck

Hello Randy
I to own a 2010. I am no expert but believe that you either have an input shaft seal bad or the clutch hyd pump or lines leaking. They are all in this area insid of this case. I am trying to change a line on my dozer that goes to the transmission filter
Good luck
