My D31 sat idle for about 2months and when I recently started using it agian, it will not move when pushing a heavy load of dirt or trying to push over a tree. It will push a small load of dirt. I replaced the screen/filter in the transmission(as suggested by Komatsu dealer)but this did not correct problem. The machine operates fine until put under a load. The engine does not stall out, the machine just stops moving when I start to push a heavy load.

The steering clutch housings have a tendency to build moisture in them which in turn builds rust on the outer splines the clutches run in, this can cause them to jam and not fully enguage, if it is not other problems as suggested. You may have to work them a bit to get them to loosen back up..... D.....

Is it one track or both that is not pushing - if only one may be steering clutch or final drive. If it si both check the adjustment on your inching pedal - if it is out you will not get full pressure to the trans. You have to hook up gauge and adjust linkage as n the manual.

Pull the floor board in front of the operator seat. Now watch the drive shaft when you push into a heavy load and see what it does. If it turns when the machine tracks stop moving you have a clutch problem in the transmission and you will most likely have to remove the transmission to repair it.

Before removing the transmission you should check transmission pressures and repair as necessary.

Good Luck.
