Just purchased a TD6 with a Bucyrus Erie 6 way manual blade. I need to know where the serial number is located on the TD6 and what year it may be. I have ordered a manual but I can't wait to see what year it is. Also, where is the best web site for International TD information?
thanks

Hello Gary, --- 20 / June / 2003 ---

The SERIAL NUMBER tag is located below the insturment panel on the left side above the brake padel.

1. T-6 (TBK) and TD-6 (TDBK) was made from 1940 to 1956.

2. TD-6 / 61 (TD6/61) was made from 1956 to 1959. 3. TD-6 / 62 (TD6/62) was made from 1959 to 1969.

Always give the PREFIX LETTERs as well as the SERIAL NUMBERs when ever wanting the year of production, this would save everyone a lot of time. Every motor that IH made, there is a SERIAL NUMBER, if you can not find the SERIAL tag, you would have to go to the motor and get that S # (a "M" is added to the SERIAL NUMBER PREFIX letters on the motor).
