So, how much are you expecting
to pay for one of these? I'm in
southern Michigan and am also in
search of a Case 450.

I don't have a dozer, I have the loader. It has been a very good piece of equipment. Watch for sediment in the diesel tank. Keep good fuel filters on it. By far a superior machine to the Deere. No clutch woes, no track woes, no transmission woes, no John Deere price woes on parts.

My guess is that it won't have brakes. But heck, what are brakes for?

My 450 has been a very good tractor. One of the best things about it besides the full power turns is, you won't be fixing stuck clutches in the spring, if it sits all winter, like you have to on the older deere tractors!! Robert

I have a 1970 450 Case works good have had some problems but mostly caused by previous owner's lack of maintenance. I sold a good 350 JD because i liked the Case better. Just keep filter clean and change fluids and it'll give you good service.

I'll second Marlowe's comment, I've only operated one, and I've wanted one ever since.

I have a 1983 450B. Someone told me it has the same transmission as the Case 850. I've had it 5 or 6 years---runs like a watch, I love it. It takes a little getting used to. When I first started running it I felt, that maybe I was a little hasty in buying it, but you'll like it once you get used to it. Good Luck. John
