Can anyone tell me the difference between the two? What motor is in the HG? Is there another website for more info? Thanks!

Try the HPOCA website: hartparroliver.org; Landis Zimmerman in Ephrata, PA is the publicity chairman and is the best source of Oliver crawler parts that I've found.

The HG officially became the OC-3 in 1951. The only real change when that happened was the decals. The design changes that are often referred to as OC were for the most part already incorporated in the HG.
Most visible being the front idler that had changed from a cast iron spoke idler that ran inside the chain to a solid pressed steel idler that ran on the outside of the chain.

At www.cletrac.org there is a forum as well at www.cletrac.org/forum--there is a section for HG/OC discussions.
